Pattering noises.

"What the hell…" Pawing at his sleepy eyes, Fideo poked his head around the corner, where a ridiculously innocent grin greeted him. He irritably squinted at the gleaming teeth. "Cat or rabbit?"

"Rabbit." Sands' voice held a touch of exasperated isn't-it-obvious. "I look cuter that way."

But Fideo had already flopped out of sight. Sands lifted his ears, listening intently, and when he heard nothing, cheerfully resumed his business.

Loud yowl.

This time, Ramirez dragged himself away from Fideo's fluffy tail to check things out. El gave him a level look, then recommenced furious licks at one paw. The cat looked a bit harried. "What happened?" Ramirez resignedly growled. "What did he break?"

"Nothing important. Go back to sleep before Fideo gets cold." El finished with his paw and stalked off, tail held high and stiff.

Raging scuffle.

"Shut up," Ramirez and Fideo snapped, stomping into the room with hackles raised.

"I don't care how adorable you look. That was still annoying." El ignored the newcomers and bundled the bunny into a tighter ball before picking up the wriggling fluff by the neck. He kept Sands well away from his own throat as he stepped out.

Ramirez turned to Fideo, who managed a fairly convincing shrug and melted onto the nearest cushion. The wolf looked at the cat, then at the fox. Cat, fox, cat, fox…bushy tail tip tickling his nose. Snorting, he batted it away and grudgingly settled himself around the fox. Then did his best to ignore the caterwauling from the next room.
