"I don't understand why you have to be such an asshole -"

"No one's asking you to," JC said calmly. "All I'm asking you to do is leave."

Justin pulled his shirt on and grabbed his keys from JC's coffee table, then stood still for a moment, bent over awkwardly, looking at JC.

"You're not going to change my mind, Justin," JC said.

"I hate you," Justin said, and no matter how much JC wanted this to be over he couldn't help flinching when he heard that. He knew Justin saw.

Justin stormed over to the door and opened it. He stopped on the threshold, his head down, and said, "I don't really hate you."

"I know," JC said, but Justin was already outside, the door slamming behind him.
