Summary: Lancelot’s being metaphorical tonight.

“If I were a book on your shelf,” Lancelot began, head pillowed on his arms so he could watch the shadows sink into Arthur’s face, “What kind would I be?”

Arthur lifted himself so the dim light chased down his forehead and lit his eyes, brushing the back of his hand over Lancelot’s cheek. He took a moment to answer, pursing thought over his lips. “I think you already are one.”

“You’re not answering the question. Try another? How often would you read me? As much as your Bible, or your orders?” Though Lancelot had more comparisons springing to mind, he swallowed them down when Arthur laid a finger against his mouth.

“Whenever I see you,” the other man said, pressing the words to the finger between them. Then that obstruction slipped away, and Lancelot helplessly spread himself before Arthur, opening to the slightest touch.
